Stephen Apemah-Baah, a first-year student from Opoku Ware School, played a pivotal role in securing Opoku Ware’s spot in the final of the 2023 National Science and Maths Quiz. In an exhilarating semi-final showdown, he led his team to victory against strong contenders Prempeh College and Pope John SHS, earning him widespread acclaim for his exceptional performance.
Stephen’s standing in the NSMQ has been further elevated by the fact that he is a first-year student. Prior to this competition, he showcased exceptional leadership skills by guiding his former school, Good Shepherd JHS, to triumph in the 2022 Juvenile Science and Maths Quiz (JSMQ). Additionally, he led the school to victory in the Best Brain Quiz in 2021. His remarkable academic achievements culminated in him being honored with the President’s Independence Day Awards in 2022 for his outstanding performance in the Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE).
Both current and former students of Opoku Ware School are rallying behind Stephen and his team, eagerly anticipating their peak performance in the final. The stakes are high for OWASS, as they strive to secure the trophy for the first time since 2002.
