Prof. Takyiwaa Manuh’s journey is one of resilience, dedication, and leadership. Serving as the Director of the Institute of African Studies at the University of Ghana and later as the Director of the Social Development Policy Division at the United Nations Economic Commission for Africa (ECA), she has left an indelible mark on the academic and social spheres.
Educational Background
Her educational journey began at the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) Primary School, followed by Wesley Girls Cape Coast for secondary education. She earned her Bachelor of Laws degree (LLB) at the University of Ghana and went on to achieve a master’s degree in Law from the University of Dar es Salaam. Her pursuit of knowledge led her to Indiana University Bloomington, where she obtained a doctorate degree in Anthropology in 2000.
