Boti Falls is a spectacular tourist attraction situated in the small town of Boti, in the Yilo Krobo District of Ghana’s Eastern Region. It is comprised of two waterfalls that cascade down the rocky cliffs from two different rivers. The falls are locally known as the “male” and “female” falls, with the male falls being the larger of the two.
According to local legend, the two falls represent a husband and wife who were cursed to live separately as waterfalls. It is said that when the two falls merge, a rainbow is formed, symbolizing the reunion of the husband and wife.
The falls are approximately 17 kilometers (11 miles) northeast of Koforidua, the capital of the Eastern Region. Visitors can reach the falls via a 30-minute drive from Koforidua or a longer 90-minute drive from Accra, depending on the mode of transportation. Along the way, visitors can enjoy scenic views of the lush green forests and hilly landscapes of the Eastern Region.
At the falls, visitors can take a refreshing dip in the cool waters of the falls or hike to the top to enjoy panoramic views of the surrounding area. The site also has picnic areas and vendors selling local snacks and souvenirs. Overall, Boti Falls is a must-visit destination for nature lovers and adventure seekers visiting Ghana.
